Fishackathon Jakarta 2018

Do you love a good challenge?
Are you interested in protecting our world's fisheries?
Do you love producing tech?

Then you would love Fishackathon!

Fishackathon is a marathon tech competition that will be taking place simultaneously in 65 cities around the world on the weekend of February 10th and 11th, 2018, run by the local Hackernest team. Hackernest is a nonprofit organization that gets more people into tech jobs so they can afford to be healthier and happier. Our community events include down-to-earth Tech Socials and epic, socially beneficial hackathons. To date, HackerNest has run 500+ tech events in 34 cities, 14 countries, and 5 continents. HackerNest is the Managing Partner of Fishackathon, a global hackathon series created by the U.S. Department of State’s Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships in 2014.

We would therefore like to invite members of Python ID to get involved in this epic hackathon by participating and volunteering! Participants will receive challenge sets and create solutions through technology to solve those problems and volunteers will help with the run of things on the event days. Enroll and become part of a team that will be creating an innovative solution to a real world problem that faces our environment and an important source of food.

The event will be taking place from 9 am on the Saturday, overnight, and to about 7 pm on the Sunday evening.
At then end of the competition, 3 winners will be selected to send their demo video to a regional judge, who will then determine whose product continues on to global judging.
There will be awards handed out at the local and global levels. Last year’s prizes for winners from Indonesia included two all expense paid trips to Lombok Island with a unique opportunity to test their winning solutions with a sponsor’s stakeholders and a trip to GSMA Mobile World Congress, Barcelona!
